Formula

weekly = loads/week × cost/load; total = weekly × weeks

Multiply loads per week by your all-in cost per load (detergent, water, electricity share), then scale by the number of weeks in the period.

Worked example

Four loads a week at ₹45 each is ₹180 weekly, or ₹9,360 over 52 weeks — a baseline before upgrading to a front-loader that cuts water per cycle.

Where this can give the wrong answer

  • Cost per load is whatever you define — detergent only, or detergent + electricity + water + depreciation.
  • Shared building machines with flat fee per token: enter token price as cost per load.
  • Dryer costs aren't separate unless you include them in the per-load figure.

FAQ

kWh per cycle × your ₹/kWh rate from the electricity bill estimator, plus detergent and water if you want a full picture.
