Why it exists
Most calculator sites are a thin wrapper around one formula, buried under four ad units and a cookie wall, with no explanation of what the number means or when it stops being true. That is a deliberate business model, and it is a bad one for the person doing the maths.
So this site inverts it: the calculator is the page. Every one ships with the formula written out, a worked example with a realistic number, the edge cases where the result misleads, and charts where they actually help. Nothing is gated and nothing tracks you across the web.
How it makes money
Two promo slots. That is the entire business model.
Anyone can buy one from the promo board by paying in US dollars — rank is what you pay, nothing else, and you hold the slot until someone outbids you. There is no rate card and no sales call.
What we deliberately do not do: no Google AdSense, no programmatic exchange, no retargeting pixels, no sponsored calculators, no paid reviews, no dofollow backlinks, and no selling your data. Advertisers buy placement and nothing else — they cannot touch a formula, a result, or a ranking. That boundary is written down in our Advertising Policy and Editorial Standards.
How calculators get built
- Formulas are checked against a primary source — a regulator, a standard, or a textbook derivation — not against another calculator site.
- Money is computed in integer minor units, so displayed figures don't drift from floating-point rounding.
- Every page lists the assumptions and the cases where the answer stops being useful.
- Corrections are made promptly, and we don't quietly edit a published figure.
