Formula
yearly = cups/day × price/cup × work days
Multiply cups per workday by price per cup, then by the number of working days in the year.
Worked example
Two ₹180 coffees per workday for 250 days is ₹90,000 a year — the kind of number that makes a home espresso machine look like a two-year payback.
Where this can give the wrong answer
- Zero cups per day gives zero spend — valid if you're tracking a hypothetical cutback.
- Weekend café visits aren't counted unless you add those days to work days.
- Price should be all-in (tax, tip, upsized milk) for a honest total.
FAQ
- Run a second scenario with lower price per cup (beans + amortised machine cost) and compare yearly totals.
